</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>"The game has evolved a little bit, thanks to Marshall Faulk, and Brian Westbrook and even Brian Mitchell with the Redskins," said Jones-Drew. "The position is more about touches now than carries." MJD makes a salient point, and we expect him to be among the league-leaders in RB receptions while touching the ball around 340 times.

Not sold on their line. Should be a monster in yardage leagues.

This is what Jack Del Rio suspected, but an MRI today confirmed it. Jones-Drew simply has a bruise and will be fine for Week 1. Everyone who took him in No. 1 or 2 overall can breath a sigh of relief. The scare is still somewhat of a reminder that Jones-Drew has never been "the man" before and is bound to take some extra nicks this season.

Backup RB Chris Brown To Take Away Short-Yardage TD's From The Houston's Starter Steve Slaton

</TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top colSpan=3>Texans coach Gary Kubiak admitted for the first time Thursday that Chris Brown is the team's goal-line back.
"Our goal is to use him basically as a short-yardage runner, a red zone runner and Steve's (Slaton) backup," revealed Kubiak. "He's shown flashes this preseason that he's still got it in him. That's important to our team." Kubiak's statement confirms the widely held speculation that Slaton would lose red zone touches to the bigger back. As a potential vulture, Brown gains some value in TD-heavy leagues

Maurice Jones-Drew - RB - Jaguars Jones-Drew livid about Jacksonville offense
It was an out-of-character moment for MJD, but what happens when you lose 41-0. "I don't like to be embarrassed," he said. "It just seems like now if we don't get 30 yards (rushing), we just go away from (the running game). I've never been part of a team like that." MoJo also referred to himself as the second-highest paid "decoy" in the league, behind only Reggie Bush. October 14

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>Del Rio hasn't really used MJD's backups. Greg Jones has three carries all year and Rashad Jennings has 15, although Del Rio did make a point of saying he would "like to get Rashad Jennings more involved." Jones-Drew has a bye to recover from his 38-touch outing in Week 6. It will be hard for Del Rio to take his best player off the field going forward.
